Former Celtic Justin Reed passes away at 35

The Boston Celtics lost a former teammate early Friday morning as Justin Reed, 35, passed away from angiosarcoma, a form of spinal cancer. Reed was diagnosed with the rare condition just three months ago.

Reed was drafted by the Celtics in the 2nd round of the 2004 NBA draft. He played just one full season with the C's before being traded in the middle of his 2nd year in a deal with the Timberwolves that brought Wally Szczerbiak and Michael Olowokandi to Boston.
