Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving, who suffered a scratched right eye in Monday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs, is out for Wednesday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Irving suffered the injury as he and Spurs guard Marco Belinelli attempted to secure a rebound in the fourth quarter of the Celtics' 120-11 loss to the Spurs. Belinelli swiped at the ball and hit Irving in the eye, causing the Celtics guard to stay down on the floor for a short time writhing in pain.
"(He) smacked the s--- out of me," Irving said.
