ESPN's Basketball Power Index recently came out with odds for each team winning a ring in 2018. The Boston Celtics ranked second overall, with a 12% chance at victory, being only out-ranked by the obvious front runners: the dastardly Golden State Warriors.
What is the Basketball Power Index, you ask? Well, it's basically projections made by a bunch of nerds at ESPN who use trigonometry and other boring math concepts to come up with these approximations. They use a formula to measure each team's offensive and defensive levels, and consider a ton of factors when creating these estimates.
