It’s Danny Ainge’s job to sell as much as manage at this time of year, and the Celtics president of basketball operations was in marketing overdrive Tuesday.
Ainge’s first challenge is dealing with a public disappointed by his inability to trade up into the lottery during last week’s NBA Draft. The second challenge is who he took with the 16th pick – Terry Rozier. The Louisville guard is as tough and driven as anyone in this year’s draft class. Most teams also had him ranked much lower than No. 16.
The third challenge is one of numbers - the Celtics are already over-stocked with smallish guards, some like Rozier with shooting questions.
