CHICAGO — The Celtics, armed with the largest stockpile of draft picks in the league, are naturally interested in trading up into the lottery next month, perhaps even into the top 10.
With that in mind, management interviewed some highly projected players who are presently well out of their draft range today at the NBA Draft Combine. Those players included the two best small forwards in the field — Arizona’s Stanley Johnson and Duke’s Justise Winslow.
They also interviewed Kentucky center Willie Cauley-Stein, UNLV power forward Christian Wood and Washington center Robert Upshaw.
Upshaw may be the most intriguing name of the bunch.
