CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Hornets lost to the Houston Rockets on Monday, 102-95. In the losing effort, of their 83 field goal attempts, the Hornets lofted an insane 41 3-point shots.

Forty-one.

Charlotte ranks only behind Houston and the Golden State Warriors, respectively, in 3-point attempts per game (28.9) this season. And right behind them? The Boston Celtics, averaging 27.9 3-point attempts per contest.

In other words, expect it to be bombs away when the Celtics face the Hornets at Time Warner Cable Arena tonight.

Asked if Charlotte’s 41 attempts was too many for a team to take, C’s coach Brad Stevens was resolute in his belief in the long ball.
