NEW YORK — Prior to last night’s game, Nets general manager Billy King was on the Barclays Center floor chatting away with Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge.
After they finished, someone jokingly said to King, “You still talk to him?”
“Yeah,” King said with a laugh. “Oh, yeah. We’re still friends.”
In that the Nets leader is also a bright and pragmatic man, he is not about to sweat the circumstances that caused his club to come out on the shorter-than-expected end of its blockbuster trade with the Celtics in the summer of 2013.
