In today's Celtics rumors and news update, the Boston Celtics are hoping that rookie swingman James Young can get some valuable on-court time during the ongoing NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
However, complications sustained from a car accident several weeks back have kept him on the sidelines for now - with the entire tournament perhaps in jeopardy for him at this point.
“He’s in every film session. He’s watching every walk-through,” coach Brad Stevens reassured via Marc D'Amico of Celtics.com. “He’s shooting around right now and it’s really important.”
“You can see him trying to shoot as much as he can and the trainers keep telling him to slow down and not shoot as much,” said Phil Pressey, taking in Young's frustrating start to his NBA career firsthand in Vegas. “But he’s going to have a long career."
"He’s a young kid, and him missing a couple of days is not going to affect his career at all.”
