Celtics News: Brad Stevens addresses Rajon Rondo's play in loss to Knicks

Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo admitted after Friday's 101-95 loss to the New York Knicks that he's not playing aggressively enough or attacking the basket like he has in years past.

When asked about that, head coach Brad Stevens channeled the blame towards himself.

"I thought the couple of shots that he did take, especially off of behind the screens, were aggressive, good looks," Stevens said, via Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald. "And if I had to do over again, I might play it a little bit more high pick-and-roll that may give him some more opportunities to do that."

In fact, Stevens accentuated the positives that Rondo brought to the floor in the loss.

“But you know when he’s not shooting, he’s finding Tyler and that’s turning out to be points at a pretty high percentage,” said Stevens. “So, again, I thought that as far as offensively on the floor game, I thought he did a pretty good job. Certainly we’re a team that needs every basket we can get, whether that’s one person or two people or three people, we need to all play well to win.”
