Shoulder surgery ends second straight season for Anders Bjork

For the second straight season, a shoulder injury is taking Bruins prospect Anders Bjork off the ice for an extended period.

The 22-year-old speedster had successful left shoulder surgery performed by Dr. J.P. Warner at Massachusetts General Hospital, the team announced Friday. His recovery is expected to take approximately 5 to 6 months, according to the team, making this the second straight year his season has ended in January.

Last Jan. 30, Bjork hurt his shoulder in what appeared an innocuous collision with Anaheim’s Francois Beauchemin. The winger opted for surgery, with the team announcing its success on Feb.
