Another day, another award nomination for Patrice Bergeron.
The NHL announced the 31 candidates for the 2020 King Clancy Memorial Trophy this afternoon, and Bergeron was the Bruins’ nominee.
Nominees are picked by each team, with the award, per the NHL’s press release, given to “the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”
Bergeron is quite active in the community, frequently hosting kids and families in suites at Bruins home games, among other charitable endeavors.
Earlier this summer, Bergeron also donated $50,000 to anti-racism causes, split between the NAACP Boston and the Centre Multiethnique de Quebec.
