Heinen, McIntyre named AHL All Stars

Per a press release from the AHL, the Providence Bruins will have two representatives at this month’s AHL All-Star Classic in Allentown, PA: forward Danton Heinen and goalie Zane McIntyre.

Heinen is a bit of an odd choice, as he doesn’t lead the P-Bruins in any major statistical category. He’s tied for 6th in points with 17 (8G, 9A).

Poor Wayne Simpson (10G, 14A, 24PTS) and Peter Cehlarik (14G, 8A, 22PTS) got RIPPED OFF.

McIntyre, of course, has been having a hell of a season in the AHL. There’s something wrong with the AHL’s stats site right now (in fact, I’m not certain the ones above are current), but McIntyre’s save percentage has been WOW with a THAT’S REALLY GOOD goals-against average.
