Just three seconds into his only shift against the Stars, Kelly fell awkwardly with his left leg bent out of shape in front of Dallas’ bench. He would need assistance from teammates and trainers getting off the ice.

Following the hit, Kelly was transported to Mass General Hospital where he was diagnosed with a femur fracture. The veteran is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow and is expected to miss six to eight months.
