With the Bruins in need of some scoring punch, Don Sweeney and Boston pulled off a deal for a middle-six winger on Tuesday.
Boston announced just ahead of the start of free agency that they have acquired forward Viktor Arvidsson from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick.
With limited options available in free agency, Boston opted to take a flier on a veteran winger who could be a potential 20-goal contributor for a team that needs a shot-first option in place.
Avridsson, 32, is coming off of a season where he scored 15 goals and 27 points across 67 games with the Oilers.
