Bruins cut roster to 26 players, get one step closer to final roster

Bruins cut Khokhlachev, Blidh, Breen, Defazio, Ferlin, Sexton, and waive Cross, getting them one step closer to a final roster

After the latest preseason game where the Bruins may or may not have violated the veteran minimum skaters (no word if anything came of that) the Bruins have sent down the call ups that played. From Bruins.com:

Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, October 1, that the club has assigned Anton Blidh, Chris Breen, Brandon DeFazio, Brian Ferlin, Alex Khokhlachev and Ben Sexton to the Providence Bruins.

Sweeney also announced the team has placed Tommy Cross on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the Providence Bruins

This leaves the Bruins with 27 players on their NHL roster, counting Jonas Gustavsson who is still without a contract, and on a PTO, as well as injured Seth Griffith and Dennis Seidenberg.
