Marco Sturm has a new assistant coach in place on his Bruins staff.
Boston announced on Friday that they have hired Steve Spott as an assistant coach. Spott, 57, has an extensive history working alongside Peter DeBoer — serving as his assistant across three different teams from 2015-25.
Spott first joined DeBoer’s NHL staff with the San Jose Sharks (2015-19) before moving on to the Golden Knights (2020-22) when DeBoer went to Las Vegas. Spott’s most recent stop was with the Dallas Stars over the last three seasons — helping Dallas earn three straight trips to the Western Conference Finals.
