Brad Marchand continued to torment the Maple Leafs Sunday night.
The longtime Bruins winger and now Panthers forward was arguably the best player on the ice in Florida’s 6-1 win over the Maple Leafs in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals — scoring an empty-net goal and adding two helpers in the lopsided win at Scotiabank Arena.
Marchand is now 5-0 in Game 7s against Toronto in his NHL career, with the Panthers now advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third year in a row.
Florida’s decision to trade for Marchand has paid off well for the reigning Stanley Cup champions, as the 37-year-old winger is tied with Eetu Luostarinen for the most postseason points (12 points) on the Panthers’ roster.
