Brad Marchand has been hot in 2017. Since Jan. 1, no player has scored more goals or points than Marchand who has recorded 27 goals and 48 points in that time. In the week ending on March 19, Marchand did more of the same by leading the league in scoring with nine points – five goals and four assists in just three games. Rewarded for his efforts, Marchand was named the NHL’s first star of the week.
On March 13, Marchand recorded a hat-trick (his second of the year) and an assist against the Vancouver Canucks.
