The sport of soccer may not typically see the same level of popularity in the United States as it does internationally, but that certainly hasn’t been the case this month as Copa America Centenario, the special centennial edition of Copa America, takes place on American soil for the first time.
With a chance to see some of South America’s top soccer players– such as Colombia’s James Rodriguez of Real Madrid, Argentina’s Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona and Uruguay’s Luis Suárez, also of FC Barcelona– fans are paying a premium to see these stars perform in their own backyard.
