Affiliate Report: Winning streak ends for Providence in weekend split

After starting off the season with a victory to extend their franchise-record winning streak to 13 games (over the course of multiple seasons), the Providence Bruins suffered their first regulation defeat in 369 days — a 4-0 loss to Hartford on February 11.

Then, when it looked as if Providence would be tasting consecutive regulation defeats for the first time since January 4-5, 2020, a third-period rally on Saturday led to a comeback win over Bridgeport that salvaged a weekend split.

In a 4-1 season-opening victory over Bridgeport, Providence got goals from four different sources including returners Zach Senyshyn and Robert Lantosi, rookie Alex-Olivier Voyer, and former Atlanta Gladiators standout Samuel Asselin.
