The Maxwell Award is awarded annually to the best college football player in the nation. Don't confuse it with the Heisman Trophy...that's awarded to the most outstanding college football player in the nation, silly. Well, we'll see about outstanding part soon enough, but for now, the Broncos have two returning players deemed "best enough" to garner inclusion on the Maxwell Award's 2016 watch list. I'd have been tempted to put Thomas Sperbeck on this list, but as it stands, junior running back Jeremy McNichols and sophomore QB Brett Rypien made the cut and Sperbeck will have to hold out for the Biletnikoff watch list (drops July 13, like my mixtape).
