Former Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore — the presumed backup for the Dallas Cowboys — spent most of Saturday’s preseason game on the bench.
Undrafted rookie Cooper Rush, who is pushing for Moore’s job, was given the backup job against the Oakland Raiders to gauge his development. Rush started the second half and was 12-for-13 for 115 yards and two touchdowns, a continuation of his stellar preseason. Rush also lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.
Moore entered the game in the fourth quarter and was 2-for-4 for 10 yards. Moore played well in the first preseason game of the year but struggled in the next two.
