Hello again: Cowboys intend to bring back Kellen Moore two days after letting him go

Though he was available for all 32 NFL teams, former Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore is expected to head back to the Dallas Cowboys two days after they cut him.

The move is not surprising, as Dallas has stated a preference to have three quarterbacks on the roster, and wanted to keep undrafted rookie Cooper Rush. Placing tight end Rico Gathers on injured reserve allowed the Cowboys to come back to Moore and put him on the 53-man roster. He could be Dak Prescott’s backup when the Cowboys open the season Sunday night against the Giants.
