Former Mountain West rival joining Boise State coaching staff

Boise State men's basketball coach Leon Rice on Tuesday added former Utah State head coach Tim Duryea to the Broncos' staff as an assistant.

Rice confirmed the hire of his former Mountain West Conference rival in a text message to the Idaho Statesman on Tuesday.

Duryea replaces Phil Beckner, who resigned earlier this month after two seasons with the Broncos to pursue a career in the professional ranks.

Before taking over the Aggies in 2015, Duryea spent 14 seasons as an assistant on Utah State coach Stew Morrill's staff.
