Before he became the head coach of the Chicago Bulls, Fred Hoiberg faced a Leon Rice-led Boise State men's basketball team during the 2013 Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu.
Five years later, Hoiberg hasn't forgotten the Broncos' near upset of his then 14th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones.
Hoiberg credited Rice's system with helping to develop NBA rookie Chandler Hutchison, who the Bulls selected with the 22nd overall pick in the first round of last week's NBA Draft.
"He's got great length. He's got great feet, and he's got good anticipation," Hoiberg said Monday during an introductory press conference for Hutchison and fellow Bulls draft pick Wendell Carter Jr.
