Brett Rypien could end decades of disappointment for Boise State QBs in the NFL Draft

For all the successful quarterbacks that have come through Boise State, just one — Kellen Moore — has ever thrown a pass in a regular-season NFL game. Moore threw 104 passes in 2015, with four touchdowns and six interceptions.

Moore is certainly the most decorated of any of the Broncos’ passers but, believe it or not, only two have ever been drafted. And both of those came in an era when the NFL Draft was 17 rounds.

Brett Rypien hopes to be the first Boise State quarterback selected since 1975. And he would not only buck history, but he also would have a chance to be solidly on a roster, unlike many greats who have preceded him in the last four-plus decades.
