Boise State senior Chandler Hutchison was named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week on Tuesday by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
Hutchison was nominated by being selected as the Mountain West men’s basketball player of the week.
Hutchison averaged 32.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists last week in wins at Fresno State and at home against San Diego State. Most notably, he scored a school-record 44 points on Saturday against San Diego State. He scored the Broncos’ first 16 points and was 15-for-21 from the field (7-for-10 on 3-pointers).
Hutchison also was named player of the week by ESPN’s Dick Vitale and one of the top players of the week by the NCAA’s Andy Katz and CollegeSportsMadness.
