Boise State safety Darian Thompson picked by New York Giants in the third round

Mountain West all-time interceptions leader Darian Thompson had to wait a little longer than he'd maybe anticipated, but the Boise State safety's patience finally paid off in the third round as he was selected by the New York Giants.

The two-time All-MWC first-teamer and former All-American wasn't even supposed to be Boise State's starting free safety in the minds of many, after Lee Hightower's eye-opening true frosh campaign put him in the driver's seat. But after Hightower was unceremoniously dismissed from the Bronco program, Thompson took over and never looked back...racking up loads of accolades and MWC records in the process.
