Running back is a fairly big question mark for the Boise State football team after Jeremy McNichols decided to give up his senior season to pursue an NFL career. But the Broncos definitely have some interesting options.
Sophomore Alexander Mattison (5-foot-11, 216 pounds) is the likely starter, but senior Ryan Wolpin had an excellent spring. He also got a little publicity from Sports Illustrated on Wednesday.
Recently-hired Bruce Feldman compiled his annual list of the top 40 workout warriors, and at No. 40 is Wolpin, a former walk-on. Feldman wrote: “(Wolpin) has been, pound-for-pound, the strongest player on the Broncos’ team the past two years.
