Boise State rages on Cajuns

Not a bad debut for the 2016 Broncos. Boise State overwhelmed the Ragin’ Cajuns early in this one and never really relented...even if they did go ultra-conservative after halftime. All told, 8 true freshmen played for the Broncos, including running back Alexander Mattison—who actually outgained starter Jeremy McNichols on the ground (McNichols would finish with 146 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs) and scored his first collegiate TD in the 4th quarter.

The starters were the big story, however as Brett Rypien passed for a sterling 347 yards and 2 TDs with no turnovers. JuCo transfer Cedrick Wilson showed how good an offseason pick up he was very early and had over 100 receiving yards before the 1st quarter was finished—he ended up with 7 catches for 113 yards and a score.
