Max Rice, the middle of Boise State coach Leon Rice’s three sons, committed to the Broncos’ men’s basketball team on Wednesday night.

Rice is the reigning 4A Southern Idaho Conference Player of the Year and and a two-time 4A All-Idaho first-team selection.

The 6-foot-3 incoming Bishop Kelly High senior averaged a league-leading 18.5 points per game last season, leading the Knights to a third-place finish at state.

Rice said he also had an offer from Gonzaga.

Leon Rice can’t comment on his son’s commitment until the November signing period.
