One of the more impressive displays of athleticism in the NFL last season came courtesy of former Boise State linebacker Shea McClellin on Dec. 12 as his New England Patriots faced the Baltimore Ravens.
McClellin jumped clear over the long snapper and blocked Justin Tucker’s 34-yard field goal attempt in the Patriots’ 30-23 win. It wound up being Tucker’s only miss of the season.
“Before it ever happened, I was nervous for weeks, like, what if I get a flag or I trip?” McClellin said in an interview with the Idaho Statesman in January. “But all the film study, the practice, when it came time to do it, it worked perfectly.
