MADISON, Wis. -- Four months ago, Wisconsin junior Corey Clement talked confidently of becoming the top running back in the country, of rushing for 2,000 yards, of obliterating his competition on the way to a truly special season. The goal was to perform so well that he would have no choice but to declare a year early for the NFL draft, emerging from the shadows of Melvin Gordon as the next Badgers superstar.
But time reveals all. And now there may be no player in college football more eager to forget about this season than Clement because of a lingering sports hernia injury and a legal issue.
