EAST LANSING, Mich. -- One would think, after all this time, that Wisconsin would have earned the benefit of the doubt.
This is a program, after all, that has averaged 10 wins a year for the past seven seasons. The Badgers have consistently fielded one of the Big Ten’s best teams, under several different coaches.
Yet all the talk this year has revolved around what they couldn’t do. They couldn’t possibly handle a rigorous schedule that included an opener against LSU, road games versus Michigan State and Michigan, and a home date with Ohio State in the first six contests.
