Wisconsin midseason review: Badgers have exceeded expectations

Wisconsin began the season unranked, which should say something about where expectations were set for the Badgers entering 2016. Given such a brutal schedule, any best-case scenario at the halfway point of the regular season likely had Wisconsin with three or four victories.

The Badgers are 4-2, with victories against two top-10 opponents in a season for the first time since 1962. And perhaps no team in college football has surprised in the way Wisconsin has thus far. Wisconsin went toe to toe with Michigan and Ohio State -- both teams currently ranked in the top three. Those losses were so impressive that Wisconsin remains at No.
