MADISON, Wis. -- A year ago this week, Bart Houston was busy preparing for a game against Rutgers as Wisconsin's rugby-style rollout punter, entrusted with handling snaps through wind, rain and cold at High Point Solutions Stadium.
That he was really a quarterback who had never punted in a college game only one week earlier seemed of little consequence to coaches. He punted four times against the Scarlet Knights -- two more than the team's actual punter. In other words, he was as far away from being a signal caller as any backup quarterback could be.
