Who needs last-second drama? Nebraska finally wins handily against Minnesota

There was no need for any late-game drama involving Nebraska's football team this week. For once, Cornhuskers fans could save their cuticles from another nail-biting finish in a season of agonizing defeats.

Nebraska finally earned a laugher by dispatching Minnesota 48-25 on Saturday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium. The Cornhuskers trailed by a touchdown early and then turned on the afterburners midway through the game, scoring 21 unanswered points to put the contest away. Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. was excellent, completing 18 of 26 passes for 261 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also had plenty of help from tailback Terrell Newby, who rushed for 116 yards and scored two first-half touchdowns.
