As spring camps close around the Big Ten, we’re looking this week at one player on each team who enjoyed a breakout spring and appears ready to handle a significant role when football resumes in August.

Up first is Indiana, featuring a quarterback whose time on campus has been short but whose impact may be great:

Despite the absence of top returning quarterback Zander Diamont this spring at Indiana, no shortage of candidates existed to throw the football.

Five quarterbacks, in fact, saw time under center in the April 15 spring game -- and that’s not to mention the passes thrown by receiver Ricky Jones and running back Devonte Williams on trick plays.
