It didn’t take L.J. Scott long to make an impression in East Lansing.

Michigan State’s true freshman running back was turning heads before he put on a Spartan helmet in training camp. At the Big Ten media days in Chicago this July, those that had seen Scott were already comparing him to former star Le’Veon Bell.

It didn’t hurt that Scott could pass as Bell’s younger brother, but mostly the comparisons came because of his 233-pound frame and his explosive running style. Scott didn’t disappoint, leading his team with 691 yards despite sharing carries and time as the focal point of the rushing game with three others throughout the season.
