The Big Ten issued its first batch of postseason honors on Monday night, unveiling its All-Big Ten teams and individual awards on defense and special teams. Offensive awards will be revealed on Tuesday evening.
There weren't many major surprises, and, unlike last year's voting, no real head-scratchers. Let's start with the biggies:
Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib was named the league's defensive player of the year. It's an incredible story for the former walk-on, who leads the nation with 15.5 sacks despite basically not playing the final two weeks. Nassib's top competition appeared to be from reigning defensive player of the year Joey Bosa.
