There may be some questions about Minnesota's motivation for Monday night's Quick Lane Bowl matchup against Central Michigan. After all, the Golden Gophers finished the season at 5-7 and don't figure to have an enthusiastic fan base following them to Detroit.
But there is no question about wide receiver KJ Maye's commitment to this game. The senior has a chance to make some history and perhaps give his career a boost in his final college game. But even if those things weren't on the line, he'd be just as fired up as he has been since January.
