It only took roommates Cam Chambers and Messiah deWeaver a few days to figure out how to sneak into Michigan State's indoor practice facility for a midnight game of pitch-and-catch.
Chambers, a wide receiver, and deWeaver, a quarterback, are two of the newest additions to the Spartans' roster in 2016. Less than a week after enrolling in classes in East Lansing this month, they scouted out an open door at Skandalaris Center, found the switches for lights above the turf field and got in a couple hours of route-running on a restless night in their new home.
