One of the key questions coming into the year for Michigan State was how it would replace some historic production at the offensive skill spots.

The Spartans saw two of the best players at their positions in recent program lore go off to the NFL: Tony Lippett, who was the Big Ten receiver of the year in 2014 after leading the league in receiving yards per game, and workhorse running back Jeremy Langford, who ran for more than 2,900 yards and scored 40 touchdowns in the previous two years.
