Michigan says intensity unchaged by Ohio State week

Outside Schembechler Hall on Michigan’s campus, the buzz about this Saturday’s game is building again. The TV trucks showed up Monday afternoon to ask Jim Harbaugh about his first matchup with Urban Meyer and his famous guarantee nearly 30 years ago to beat the Buckeyes.

A little steam slipped away from this year’s version of The Game last weekend when Ohio State’s 23-game winning streak ended. The loss means Saturday’s winner will no longer be, um, guaranteed a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game. The national profile of the matchup took a hit, but at least here in Ann Arbor, the water is climbing back toward a bubbly 212 degrees.
