ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan(7-2) took advantage of the same problems that have plagued Rutgers(3-6) in their last three games to deliver a dominant 49-16 victory at the Big House Saturday afternoon.
Fifth-year quarterback Jake Rudock threw for a career-high 337 yards against a woeful Scarlet Knights’ secondary. He left the game early in the fourth quarter with two passing touchdowns and one on the ground. Ten different Wolverines caught passes, led by Jake Butt’s four catches for 102 yards.
Rudock completed 18 of his 25 attempts. Among the seven incomplete passes were two drops, one ball thrown away in the red zone (Michigan scored on the next play) and an odd chest pass shoveled toward his running back on the first play of the game.
