Marquee matchups finally make it to Midwest; time for B1G to protect turf

When LSU and Wisconsin kick off things Saturday afternoon at Lambeau Field, it truly will be a special occasion.

There's the unmistakable uniqueness of two college teams playing at the hallowed NFL grounds, famous for its frozen tundra, Lambeau Leap and owner-fans. That's all fantastic.

But the Badgers-Tigers showdown (ABC, 3:30 p.m. ET) is also momentous for another reason: an SEC power is coming to Big Ten country.

That's an exceedingly rare occurrence. The last time it happened: five years ago, when Alabama whipped Penn State 27-11 at Beaver Stadium on Sept. 10, 2011. Before that, you have to go all the way back to LSU's loss at Ohio State in 1988.
