The University of Iowa had their football media day earlier this afternoon, beginning with a press conference with head coach Kirk Ferentz.
The Hawkeye football boss began with an opening statement, declaring that they are committed to being a Big Ten championship caliber program. It was a sentiment that was also echoed by many of his coaching staff and his players afterwards.
There was a lot of disdain and disappointment following last season for the football program, and Ferentz stated "They deserve a good football team, that's always been the goal", regarding the Iowa fan base.
