Donnie Corley's first career TD catch for Michigan State felt familiar

If it weren’t for the 80,000 fans and the prime-time national television audience, Donnie Corley's first touchdown catch as a Michigan State Spartan would have felt awfully familiar.

The freshman reached over Notre Dame cornerback Cole Luke and yanked a jump ball out of his hands to give Michigan State its first points in a 36-28 win this past Saturday. The catch was almost identical -- same corner of the end zone, same coverage -- to the last touchdown Corley caught in high school. That one was a Hail Mary pass Corley pulled in to help his high school win last fall’s Michigan Division 2 state championship as time expired.
