Illinois recently picked up a commitment from an underrated gem in wide receiver Dominic Thieman out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas.
Tim Beckman and Illinois are frequent visitors to the Sunshine State when it comes to replenishing their roster on the recruiting trail. For the class of 2016, the Fighting Illini currently hold commitments from a pair of Florida natives in quarterback Eli Peters and wide receiver Dominic Thieman. Mike Epstein, a speedy tailback out of Fort Lauderdale, is Illinois' lone 2017 commitment as well.
But let's rewind and take a closer look at Thieman, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound pass catcher who's scooped up additional offers from Cincinnati, New Mexico, UCF, Florida Atlantic, Ohio, Miami (Ohio) and Southern Mississippi among others.
