The Cy-Hawk game has brought out the worst in Iowa for much of Kirk Ferentz's tenure. Despite being the state's signature program, one that consistently churns out NFL talent, Iowa had gone just 7-9 against Iowa State entering Saturday's game at the renovated Jack Trice Stadium.
